When you purchase a phone mobile high-end which is around $800-$1,000 dollars you’re guaranteed a good camera. But if your budget is not given for both, does not necessarily mean to waive a cell phone with a camera decent. After a lot of research, we have selected the cheap phones with good cameras. Are the most we have liked for a price around $400 dollars. So, we face the Pixel 3a with its biggest rivals: Motorola One Vision, Sony Xperia 10 Plus and Honor 20.
The phone Google Pixel 3a, $400, has the same camera of a single lens 12.2 MP that the Pixel 3, with optical stabilization and electronic aperture f/1.8 and all the functions of artificial intelligence, including the night vision. The camera for selfies has 8MP.
Meanwhile, Motorola has put two lenses on the back of the One Vision ($300). The main camera has 48MP with aperture f/1.7, and optical image stabilization. Using the technology of four pixels that combines in a single shot of up to 12 megapixels in order to achieve maximum sensitivity to light. The software enhances photos low light mode, night vision, and there is a second 5MP camera to add depth to the images and to achieve the effect bokeh. The camera selfie is 25MP, but this phone is not available in the U.S.
The model Sony Xperia 10 Plus, $430 dollars, it also has a camera double lens. The main objective has 12MPy an aperture of f/1.75, while the second goal has 8MP and an aperture of f/2.4. Unlike other phones, it does not have night mode. Has a special feature to take photos in a aspect ratio of 21:9 to match your screen.
And, finally, the phone Honor 20, of $505 dollars, has a camera with three lenses, and is the only one in our test that you can take photos of wide angle. Like One Vision, the main camera has 48MP and an aperture f/1.8. The wide-angle lens has 16 MP and the depth it has 2MP. The software package of Honor includes a night mode, several modes portrait, and many features of artificial intelligence for recognizing scenes, and more. Like One Vision, nor is sold in the united States.
We have not submitted these photos to a scientific comparison in depth. We have chosen the winners based on which images are “best” and which ones are the most impressive from the technical point of view. A large part of this selection will be subjective, but our goal has been to find the decision that is best for you to share with our loved ones, as it is one of the reasons why we all take photos. All the snapshots were taken in auto mode, besides touching on the screen to select a focus area in certain situations, or by using the mode in low-light or portrait mode. Nor did multiple shots: one with every camera, in every situation. This is often the only opportunity that we have, especially on vacation, so that each camera must work perfectly at all times.
THE FISHERMAN’S HOUSE
This photo of the home of a fisherman on the beach was taken near sunset, but without the night mode on any of the phones. The photo of the Xperia 10 Plus is the most accurate, in terms of the lighting conditions at the time, but this does not make them the best example. The image is too dull, with just a tinge too much blue, and less than the natural colors. The Motorola One Vision is the next to fall. Even if the picture is good, the color of the sand and stones is too gray, which makes that the end result is a little inert. It is a difficult choice between the photos of the Honor 20 and the Pixel 3a, and we really like both examples. The Pixel 3a also shows the soil gray, compared with the more realistic colour of the photo of the Honor 20. However, the sky of the picture of the Pixel 3a is superb, adding a real-world environment and representative of the time of day. The brightness of Honor 20 reveals more details in certain areas, but the overexposure of the sky is a distraction.
Winner: tie between Pixel 3a and Honor 20
The scene in sunny beach is a take on traditional that almost all of us have taken in some time, and all cameras should be able to handle it well. In this case, the four are great, and we would be happy to share any of them. However, there are subtle differences. The Xperia 10 Plus increases the saturation in the greens and blue very bright, at the expense of the color of the beach. There is a tie between the photo of the Honor and the Motorola, which have the tone and treatment of similar color, especially in the trees and the beach, though the rocks, the sea and the sky vary more. Each one is great, but can’t match the perfect balance of all these aspects of the picture of the Pixel 3a. Here is how it looked in reality, the more detail of the beach with stones and the beautiful texture of the rocks.
Winner: Pixel 3a
These photos were taken with a zoom of 2x, or as close as possible with phones such as the Pixel 3a, which does not have a zoom function hybrid auto. The incredible blue sky and the stone work was overexposed by the Motorola One Vision. The photo of Honor, 20 is the highest you can immediately share due to saturation and the bursting visual, but it is the photo of Sony which gives me a victory over the Pixel 3a. The photo of the Xperia 10 Plus is very sharp, even zoomed in and when looking at the seagull that was introduced into the outlet, and the overall brightness also does not ruin the environment.
Winner: Sony Xperia 10 Plus
It was about 22.00 hours, it was dark, with the only lighting coming from the lanterns of the streets and the interior of the room itself, games. These are difficult conditions, and the lack of a night mode on the Xperia 10 Plus it showed how a camera normal would capture the scene. The result is unbalanced and is not a photo that you want to keep. The remaining three are very difficult to choose, their respective modes night capture great photos. However, it is the image of the One Vision that takes the victory, due to the white of the building and the color balance. The image of the Pixel 3a is sharper in the interior of the room, but the general atmosphere is less attractive than One Vision. The Honor of 20 is somewhere between the two.
Winner: Motorola One Vision
We used the portrait mode in the four phones, but the Xperia is not desenfocó the fund, and instead used a beauty effect a lot more aggressive to soften the skin. It also dodges the background, but corrects the color of the shirt. One Vision also clarifies the scene, and the blur is messed up around the top of the head. We like the selfie of Honor 20. It is very sharp, the background is sufficiently blurry, and you have not added any effect of beauty on your own. However, there is a strange halo around the head, and the recognition of the edges is very sharp, which makes the picture look a little bit unrealistic. That said, the color and contrast are excellent, and we like the overall look and feel. The recognition of edges of the Pixel 3a is much more natural, and although the blur is much stronger, it does not seem unnatural. It’s the picture that we would share after a bit of editing, but the photo of the Honor 20 is very close in second place.
Winner: Pixel 3a
What phone won? The Honor 20, and the Motorola One Vision have good cameras, and have taken photos that are visually stunning. The inability of matching the Pixel 3a is surprisingly mild, given how good they can be. The One Vision must be commended for his performance, since it is substantially cheaper than the other phones. Although the camera of the Xperia 10 Plus Sony is better than before, after some updates, it still does not provide consistently good results. Is the more expensive phone, but can’t match to the other. In our tests, the Pixel 3a was the phone that took the best pictures and therefore the one that takes the first prize.
