This is one of those news stories that seem to be a rejoicing for the terraplanistas, but what is certain is that there is nothing further away. A group of scientists from the University of Portsmouth in England, demonstrated how the large-scale structures in the distribution of galaxies in the Universe provide the most accurate tests of dark energy and cosmic expansion to the moment.
To perform the research, we used a new method based on a combination of empty cosmic (large bubbles of space in the expansion that contain very few galaxies), and the slight imprint of the sound waves in the early universe, known as acoustic oscillations bariónicas (BAO), which can be seen in the distribution of galaxies.
The results confirm the model of a dark energy cosmological constant and a universe is spatially flat with a precision that is unprecedented, and disapprove strongly of the recent suggestions of space curvature positive inferred from measurements of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) by the satellite Planck.
Dr. Seshadri Nadathur, a researcher at the Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation of the University (ICG), said, “andthis result shows the power of the studies of galaxies to determine the amount of dark energy and how it evolved in the past billion years. We are doing measurements really accurate now and the data will improve even more with the new surveys that will be online very soon.”
Now on the basis of an article of Quantamagazine, it is important not to understand this “flatness” of the universe as a sheet of paper extended, rather, “andl simplest example of a three-dimensional shape of flat space is infinite ordinary, what mathematicians call euclidean space”.
An example is what they call the donut-shaped, where to piece together the flat shapes you’d get a form like that of a thread cylinder.
Also called the way of the Bull: a three-dimensional surface that results from rotating a circle around an axis that does not the short.
“These paths look curved in a bull distorted, but for the inhabitants of toro plano is feel straight. And since light travels along straight roads, if you look straight ahead at one of these addresses, you will see from the back”, as shown in the following image.
