The first official day of Hispanicize, the summit is held to latinos and hispanics with influence in the world of entertainment and entrepreneurship, digital, was a tremendous success this Friday 18 October. The event was held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles in the city of Los Angeles, California.
The day kicked off with the presentation stellar actor, colombian John Leguizamo and, in the words of the organizers of the event, could not have asked for a better way to start the day. Leguizamo spoke without hairs in the tongue of his experiences as a Latin american artist in Hollywood and the power that we have in the community to create a change.
On this first day of the event that brought together content creators, journalists, and actors, were discussed various issues such as the future of the contents of latinos within the media. Also spoke of the situation of the Spanish-language media within the united States and the representation of the afrolatinos in the industries of entertainment and fashion.
Other important topics that were touched upon throughout the day were the importance of latina women to accept and celebrate the curves and bodies of all types on content and social networks; the evolution of the Latin culture within the united States at a time when 60 percent of the latino population in the united States is 35 years of age or less; and of course everything related to our music, from the future of the “Latin fusion” until a conversation with MelyMel, “The Mom Rap”, all this in the midst of an environment filled with music, fellowship and celebration.
Other characters featured that we had the chance to see this Friday 18 were Selenis Leyva, of the series of Netflix Orange is the New Black, the mexican singer Pepe Aguilar and the actor and producer panamanian Carlos Carrasco.
