The wait to meet the video game Halo Infinite has been pretty long, but since we know something about him some days ago. Revealed for the first time during the presentation of E3 from Microsoft in 2018, the long-awaited game is scheduled to arrive in stores this holiday season from the end of the year. Although we are a few months of its launch, there are still many things that we don’t know about the game.
In the last few years, 343 Industries and Microsoft have been cautious about the content that is offered to the public. The curtain is pulled a little during the Xbox Games Showcase in July, which showcased the debut of the game, but the biggest part of Halo Infinite remains an enigma. Here is everything we know about the next installment of the popular series.
What we know
- Release date: holiday 2020
- Developer: 343 Industries
- Editorial: Microsoft
- Platforms: Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC
Much of what we know about Halo Infinite comes from the two previews released by Microsoft. The first was the advance announcement of E3 in 2018, and although not revealed a lot, showed the new engine Slipspace.
To that vague trailer was followed by another sample of Discover Hope in 2019. This time we saw the Master Chief interact with a marine of the UNSC after being rescued from the orbit, held a brief conversation with Cortana. There is a lot more in this trailer than 2018: then you share in case you missed it the first time.
In addition to these two trailers, we’ve also seen a bit of concept art from 343 Industries. Although the images by themselves did not reveal much, the blog post attached provided fans with some of the best details of Halo Infinite to date.
In July, we had our first view of the game that confirmed that Halo Infinite will be a title more open and will face the Master Chief against the Exiles, enemies most known for their participation in the games of Halo Wars.
The details of the story are scarce
The details surrounding the narrative of Halo Infinite remain murky, but we know one thing: Master Chief is the star of the show. Infinite will take place after the events of Guardians, and it seems the players will not disconnect between the Chief and the character helper, as they did in the last delivery. In a publication of Chris Lee, studio head of 343 Industries, has stated that the team “heard feedback loud and clear about the amount of time spent playing as Master Chief in Halo 5”, and “focus on the Master Chief”, continuing his saga.
Xbox tweeted a video making fun of the Master Chief as the central character of the game, perfecting the digits “117” marked on his armor, which he refers to his other name, John-117.

Some fans believe that the ring being destroyed in the trailers is Zeta, but 343 has not yet confirmed these theories. Unless Halo Infinite you want to present a new ring; however, Zeta seems to be a good bet. Others believe that Cortana could assume the role of the villain, which, after the events of Guardians, it might be a possibility rather than a real.
The revelation of July we gave the tracks more and larger until now about the story of Infinite. The demo opened with a date: may 28, of 2560, which places it two years after Halo V Guardians. He mentions that this is “167 days after we lost”, and based on the dialogue of the leader of the Exile towards the end of the demo, that would be a loss to their troops.
The demonstration shows the soldier of the UNSC trailer above, whom 343 were referred to officially as the Pilot, and the Master Chief lands on the ring of Halo. The pilot a bit resentful by the fact that since he found the Master Chief floating in space, has not had any further problems. The Head Teacher promised that the couple can seek a boat to take them out of the ring once you’ve taken out three anti-aircraft guns.
The Master Chief is directed to one of the three canyons and is found with a message from the leader of the Exile. This states that has control of the ring, says that he shares the same goal as “the Herald” of carrying out the will of the founder of Banished, Atriox, and challenges the Head Teacher to confront him.
The leader banished is revealed in an interview as Chief of War Escharum, with speculation that the Herald mentioned is actually Cortana. What has happened to the AI rebel, and the rest of the UNSC? Not even the Head Master knows, and uncovering that mystery is a journey that the player and the Boss will continue to together.
This will be the last entry of the series in a long time
343 Industries confirmed in an interview that you are looking for that Halo Infinite is a experience of 10 years that is updated each certain time, both technologically as a new content of the story, with the time. However, the team did not confirm whether it was a game of service as a Destiny 2. One of the first technology upgrades will be ray tracing, which will be available shortly after launch.
The game will act as a new platform and a starting point for new fans, which is linked with the sense of discovery of what happened between the Guardians and Infinite.
The multiplayer mode will arrive on the launch date, but shall not include a real battle
Previous rumors insisted that Halo Infinite only come with a campaign launch, although the community manager of 343 Industries tweeted that this was not true and that the multiplayer mode to accompany the campaign launch.
Nothing to see here folks, this is not true.

With titles such as Fortnite and Apex Legends dominating the market, it is natural to think that Halo Infinite could jump on the bandwagon of the real battle. However, it seems that the game will not include this mode, at least not at launch. Frank O’ Connor from 343 Industries explains it clearly when he says that there are “no plans” for a mode of real battle.
In terms of the multiplayer content that will include the game, fans can expect to see games in split screen, LAN support and the return of the beloved editing tool Forge. After all, this is a game of Halo, so that the fans probably will hear more about offers robust multiplayer soon.
Details of the game
Shown during the demonstration in July, and confirmed through an interview with the leaders of the project, Halo Infinite will have a ring that is open for players to explore. However, will spend several hours in the campaign before they have access to it. While the player can explore to your liking, and even go back to certain areas, Infinite will not have a non-linear story: 343 wants the story to continue moving forward. The game will also feature a day / night cycles and wild life to create a world that is more vibrant.
The game will include collections of elements similar to the elements of Halo 3, in accordance with Klobrille, a reliable source of halo.
“Grappling hook, push or classics like the hood. This is all very dynamic and, of course, can vary greatly according to the playlist. But more on all that at a later date.
These objects will be recognizable in the open world, and the grappling hook is showed in the demo of the game to traverse the topography or attract to the Head Master towards his enemies.
On the other hand, showed several new weapons, as a weapon of fuel plasma blown out of the captivity, entitled Ravager, with a blade on the end to increase the melee damage. The mangrove is a gun banned that is slower than the UNSC but that it causes more damage. The shotgun UNSC is being replaced by the Bulldog CQS48, which has a 12 gauge in comparison with the 8. The command VK78 is a new rifle UNSC that excels over long distances. The classic Covenant Carbine is also getting a slight improvement with the Pulse Carbine.
There were details of multiplayer during the demo, but it seems that the classic modes return. However, it is not clear if the shooting mechanics for real will be more reminiscent of the recent occurrences of Halo 5: Guardians or prior to 343 Industries Halo.
Klobrille added that they were not sure how they could work in the campaign of the game, but its implementation will vary in the multiplayer maps.
Xbox Games Pass and Microsoft Smart Delivery
The fans that choose Halo Infinite on Xbox One will not have to re-buy the game when upgrading to the X Series, because it will be part of the Smart Delivery of Microsoft. This means that all copies of the Xbox One come with a version of Xbox Series X of the game at no additional cost.
Better yet, Halo Infinite will be included in the Xbox Game Pass. Microsoft has been trying to promote in great measure this service, filling it with excellent games of their own, and something as popular as Halo Infinite will surely give the platform a huge boost. Players interested in trying the service can usually get the first month for only a dollar, which means that it could be a cheap way to get the next title.
During the last few years, 343 Industries has been busy building a new engine for Halo Infinite. Lee says that the new engine “empowers the creative team to achieve details and performance that no other version of Halo has delivered” and that will allow them to capture “intimate stories as the moments witnessed in Discover Hope”.
The images we have seen up to now come from this new engine, but we have not yet seen the actual game play of Halo Infinite in action. Anyway, the images seem to be a big step forward for the franchise Halo. The players on both the console and on the PC should be happy with the new artistic direction of Infinite.
Concern for the micro-transactions (payments)
One of the biggest concerns of any release these days that will be full of microtransactions and boxes of loot. It seems likely that Halo Infinite will include some form of payment, whose details are not yet entirely clear, but it will not have “boxes of loot real money”.
What is happening with the beta release?
By the looks of it, Halo Infinite will not have a beta version typical. The manager of the community, John Junyszek posted a blog late last year mentioning the Programs of flight of the game, which will be small test options that will work in a similar way to Halo: the Master Chief Collection. Anyone interested in learning more should enroll in the program, Halo Insider, where you can register to have the opportunity to participate in these new programs.
