The new Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are among the five best Android phones to date. Feature specifications of a first level, a software solid, excellent camera features, and, of course, all the artificial intelligence that Google was able to include in them.
However, the devices are not perfect. Since the launch of these phones, there were some problems with some of its functions, and if you bought one of them, possibly you could be experiencing also one of these annoying situations.
In case you have any problem related to your Google Pixel 3 or your Pixel 3 XL, we have made this guide where you will find everything you need to know about the most common problems of the line Pixel 3, and how to fix them.
PROBLEM: TWO NOTCHES
This is a problem with the one that is best you don’t find every day. Some users of the Pixel 3 XL complain that something has gone terribly wrong with your notch.
The Pixel 3 XL, apparently, do not have enough with the large notch and adds another notch. The user of Reddit u / jtmacnb and UrAvgConsumer noted that their Pixel 3 XL had somehow added an additional recess. It seems that this problem is linked to the confirmation above of Google that the stand of the notch Android 9.0 Distance is extended to multiple notches.
Restart the phone. A complete restart solves the problem for a while and makes the additional recess is gone.
Google is working on a solution, so hope that you don’t have to do this forever.
PROBLEM: WIRELESS CHARGING SLOW MARKED AS “FAST CHARGE”
This is a problem that affects any person charge with a wireless charger that is not of the Google brand.
Due to the strange way in which Google has configured its wireless charging, it is not possible to access to the wireless charging quick 10-W under any base load that is not that of the company. However, the Pixel 3 still shows a message “quick Charge”, even when it is loaded using speeds lower than 5W. It is not the biggest problem in the world, but it can be annoying.
Leaving aside the strange approach of the wireless charging, Google has implemented a solution, so if that bothers you, make sure you have the latest update. Go to Settings> System> system Update.
PROBLEM: THE PICTURES ARE NOT SAVED AUTOMATICALLY
Several users have reported that after taking a photo with the camera app, those photos are not saved, which means that the image could disappear forever. This is clearly an important problem, and one that seems to be pretty widespread, as you can see a lot of complaints on social networks and sites like Reddit.
The situation in particular seems to arise when a photo is taken with the app Camera and then used some other app, or locks the phone immediately after taking the photo. In some situations, the photo appears again in the gallery, but that doesn’t seem to happen all the time.
The problem seems to be related to the way in which the Pixel 3 and elcPixel 3 XL handled the memory, and presents itself specifically when the users leave the app the camera before the end of the processing HDR. Fortunately, this means that you can fix with a software update.
For now, the only way to avoid losing a photo is to keep the camera app open for a few seconds after taking the photo until you save it.
Google has confirmed that it is working on a software solution to the problem and launch an update of Android that will solve this situation in the very near future. To search for an update, go to Settings> System> System Update (Settings > System > System Update) and make sure you have the latest version of Android.
PROBLEM: THE APP OF MUSIC IS CLOSED WHEN YOU OPEN THE CAMERA
Other users have reported that opening the camera app while listening to music, makes the app of music is closing in the background, stopping the playback of what you were hearing. This is another error that seems to be related to the memory management in the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. We were able to replicate this situation, and it occurred to us both with Spotify as the music itself YouTube Google.
Because the problem seems to be related to memory handling, it is very likely that we will see a software update that will fix this inconvenience in the near future. It is possible that the root of the problem is in fact the same situation that causes the pictures not to be saved, and it all comes down to the fact that the new phones Pixel are not managing its memory well enough.
In the same way that happens are the problem earlier, the only real solution at this point is to wait for a software update. To search for an update, go to Settings> System> System Update (Settings > System > System Update) and make sure you have the latest version of Android.
PROBLEM: THE PHONE IS LOCKED TO THE VERIZON NETWORK
This is a situation that makes many shake their heads wondering how it is possible for this to happen. What happens is that Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are phones exclusive to Verizon, which basically means that Verizon is the only carrier in the united States with the right to sell these devices. However, some users reported that when they bought the Pixel 3 at Best Buy, for not having to deal with this problem, they found that it was also locked to only work on the Verizon network, which means that users who bought the phone could not activate it on another network.
Fortunately, it seems that Verizon, at least temporarily, has unlocked the Pixel 3 completely. The unlock is sent to the phones Pixel 3 through a software update, so you should be able to configure your phone without a SIM card, then upgrade it and activate it on the network you choose.
To do so, set up your phone, and then look for a software update. To search for an update, go to Settings> System> System Update and make sure you have the latest version of Android. Then you should be able to activate it on the network of your choice.
Please note that this issue primarily affects customers of Best Buy: if you purchased your phone from Verizon, will soon be again locked to work only on their network. To avoid this problem if you have not yet bought the phone, we recommend you do so through the Google Store, which sells its devices completely unlocked.
We will update constantly this article when we hear more about other problems related to Google Pixel 3 and we’ll explain how to fix them.
