It’s official. From next September 19, you’ll be able to subscribe to Apple Arcade, the new gaming platform of the firm of Cupertino that will have more than 100 exclusive titles from developers like Konami, Capcom and Annapurna Interactive.
This was confirmed by the company in the event of 10 September, which also revealed that the service will cost $4.99 per month and, in addition, you will gain access to a one-month free trial.
The platform will be available in more than 150 countries and will be compatible with all Apple devices, like iPhone, iPad, Mac, in addition to the Apple TV. The company also announced that the Arcade will be compatible with the controls Microsoft Xbox One’s and PlayStation DualShock 4.
The service, which will have its own tab in the App Store, will give users the ability to play over a hundred titles developed exclusively for this platform, without having to pay individually nor see advertisements for them.
During the event developed in the auditorium of Steve Jobs Theatre in Cupertino, California, the firm showed progress of some of the titles that will form part of exclusive listing of the titles of the Apple Arcade.
Without a doubt, the most eye-catching was Frogger in Toy Town of Konami, a remake of the classic game from the 80s where a frog has to go through obstacles to reach a safe point.
Another developer that showed its progress was Capcom, with Shinsekai: Into the Depths, a 2D game about diving in the ocean, whose goal is to eliminate enemies. The particularity of this title is that the music and sound effects were recorded under water.
In the meantime, Annapurna Interactive presented Sayonara Wild Heart, a musical game in which, in addition to the melodies, draws attention to its graphics and pastel colors. Anyway, this title has been announced for other platforms, so it is not clear if it will be exclusive for the Apple Arcade.
Last march, Apple had advance that the listing of firms committed to the development of video games is also included Bossa Studios, Cartoon Network, Finji, Giant Squid, Klei Entertainment, Konami, LEGO, Mistwalker Corporation, SEGA, Snowman, Ustwo Games, among others.
