When faced with the specifications of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus each other, almost no difference. Of course, the more visible it has to do with the size. The iPhone 7 is smaller with a 4.7-inch screen, while the iPhone 7 Plus has a screen of 5.5 inches.
Both devices are powered by the chip A10 Fusion of Apple, a 64-bit architecture that the company says is 40% faster than the A9 in the iPhone 6S and the 6S Plus. Apple says that it is 120 times faster than the original iPhone.
Both have a quad-core processor. The two kernels are for stock to high performance, and the two models are designed for tasks where efficiency is more important.
So, check your email, for example, will probably be powered by the cores of high-efficiency, which will save battery.
The graphics performance is up to 50% faster than the A9, according to Apple. The performance is a link between the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, and the same thing happens with the options of internal storage – both devices come with options of 32, 128 and 256 GB. The duo also features stereo speakers, which matches the audio output also.
The iPhone 7 has 2 GB of RAM, but the model Plus has 3 GB. That gives the Plus a slight advantage on the iPhone 7.
The battery life is better on the iPhone 7 Plus because its larger size can accommodate a battery slightly larger.
Winner: the iPhone 7 Plus
Design and Durability
The overall design of both is similar to the iPhone 6. Apple has opted for a new design “without seams” that combines even more the glass in the front and rear and that in part is due to a reallocation of the bands at the top and bottom edges of the devices.
The buttons are in the same place, but the home button is not a button. The new start button is Force Touch, and acts as the Force Touch, the Macbook Pro more new: you will feel a vibration each time you push down.
In the house, which still stands out a bit, is where you’ll find the main difference in design between the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus (apart from the size). The 7 Plus has a new dual-chamber system, while the 7 only has a single rear camera.
The configuration of the rear camera of the iPhone 7 Plus seems to be somewhat similar to the LG G5, which also uses a dual camera.
On the other hand, both models come in rose gold, gold, silver, black, and a variant black high-gloss.
In the latter case and due to its high brightness, it is the only color option that Apple recommends a case or housing, because it is a model that is more prone to scratches.
However, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are IP67, which means that they are resistant to water and dust. You can type it in the water up to 1 meter of depth for 30 minutes, although the intention of this qualification is rather to protect the device from small accidents that have to do with the water.
The iPhone of 4.7 inches has a resolution of 1,334 x 750 pixels (326 ppp) – like the iPhone 6S. The iPhone 7 Plus of 5.5 inches has a Full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (401 dpi), as well as the 6S Plus.
But the screens Retina HD LED are better than ever. In fact, Apple says that the screens of both devices are 25% brighter and show a broader range of colors. So the comparison here really boils down to size. If you want a bigger screen, you’ll have to decantarte by the iPhone 7 Plus. But if you want a smaller screen, the iPhone 7 is the smart phone that you are looking for.
Winner: iPhone 7 Plus
In this case, between the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, the bigger variant wins easily. The iPhone 7 Plus is the phone that you will need to choose if you want a better photographic experience and that is due to its dual-chamber system.
That’s not to say that the camera of iPhone 7 is not good, none of that. The rear camera of 12 megapixels with a wide angle lens of 28 mm with an aperture of f / 1.8. It is 60% faster than the camera on the 6S, while it is also 30% more efficient energetically speaking.
Even the flash True Tone has obtained an update that offers up to 50% more light.
The cameras can identify faces and bodies, and also offer a wide color capture. It is even compatible with the format of the RAW image, which allows for greater control when editing photos. The front camera has an aperture f / 2.2 and features a 7 megapixel camera. Has automatic stabilization of the image, while the rear is stabilized optically.
In addition to all this, the iPhone 7 Plus has a rear camera of 12 megapixel. The second camera on the back is a telephoto lens of 56 mm with an aperture of f / 2.8. Essentially will allow you to zoom in the images, up to 10 times, with a clarity and quality spectacular. However, the optical zoom is used up to the mark of 2x. Anything higher, is the digital zoom.
There is also an exciting feature that comes through a software update. Used the dual lens and some repair programs to recognize the subject in a photo and blur the background. Offers more depth to the images and you can enable or disable.
And also you can see a live preview before taking a picture. The camera of the iPhone 7 is, simply, brilliant. But if you have to choose between the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, and the photography is important to you, then I recommend better to the iPhone 7 Plus.
Winner: iPhone 7 Plus
Software and updates
Both models were launched on the market with iOS 10, but since then they have updated it to iOS 12, and we expect to continue to receive updates for some more time. The software experience is identical, apart from the larger screen on the iPhone 7 Plus and a few additional options in the camera app.
Overall winner: iPhone 7 Plus
Really it all boils down to preference of size and the camera. If you want a phone compact, the iPhone 7 is cheaper and offers a great experience of camera.
If you are a photographer, the more likely it is that you want to take advantage of the dual camera of the iPhone 7 Plus. This really dazzled us at the launch event of Apple iPhone in San Francisco. The extra hour of battery life and 1 GB of additional RAM are also great advantages.
But, of course, if you want a smaller screen, the iPhone 7 is still the best option. Otherwise, the iPhone 7 Plus is superior.
