More than any of us has spent (and probably not a few times), that we need to make changes to a PDF file, but we do not have access to the original document. Although it could become a major problem, fortunately there are many solutions available on the web that can help you overcome this drawback. Here we explain how to convert a PDF into a Word document and all of the alternatives, both free as payment.

Convert with Adobe Acrobat
Using Acrobat is the best way to ensure that the result of the conversion is as accurate. However, you will need to have a paid version of Acrobat to use this method. Although Adobe offers a seven-day free trial of Adobe Acrobat Document Cloud (DC), is designed to prevent you to register repeatedly, so you have to see it as an option for a single occasion.
If you want to make conversions regularly, you must pay for the full version, which costs about $15 dollars a month as part of an annual plan, or as part of a package Adobe Creative Cloud.
Step 1: open in Adobe Acrobat the document PDF you want to convert. Depending on your settings, the PDF files can be opened automatically in Acrobat.
Step 2: in the right panel, locate and select the option to Export PDF.
Step 3: click on Microsoft Word, that will present you with options of format: Word 97-2003 (.doc) and Word 2013-2016 (.docx). If you choose to .docx, you can press the gear settings and set additional options, such as the ability to retain the floating text. When you have chosen the format and adjusted the settings, press the button Export.
Step 4: Adobe will automatically start the text recognition during this step. Although it doesn’t always work perfectly, for the most readable text is an ideal solution. Anyway, it is possible that you may have to perform additional formatting quick in the resulting Word document.
Step 5: set a name for the new Word file and save it in the desired location.
Convert with Microsoft Word
If you have Office, Microsoft Word is an excellent free way to convert PDF files to Word documents. Anyway, it considers that the format is not always the most appropriate and the text is sometimes inaccurate. In that sense, if you have Acrobat or not you care to try a converter online, I will suggest you to use options if the file is unusable.
Step 1: to begin, open Word and click on File. This will open a new window: look at the menu bar to the left, where the options File will likely be in Information. Select Open, which is located on the section Information.
Step 2: at the beginning, the screen Open only shows the recent documents from Word to those that you have accessed on this computer, but will not show any PDF. If you look under Recent, you’ll see options to search for documents in Personal files, OneDrive) and Other locations (the local hard disk, etc). Choose one of these alternatives, and Word should show you the files of Word and PDF documents in those locations.
Step 3: select the PDF you want to convert, just as you would with a Word file. The application displays a notification warning that will convert the PDF into an editable Word document. You may delay a bit, and not look exactly like the original PDF. If all is well, press Ok.
Step 4: the application will convert the PDF document to a Word file and open it. Check the format and make sure that you can edit the document without the graphics or the text to behave in a strange way.
But not all have conversion tools, you can also review the best alternatives to Microsoft Office.
