Earlier this year Google announced that it would form its own division games, with the intention of producing original content and unique for your next cloud-based service called Google Stay. Now, the technology giant has kept his promise, announcing the opening of its first study of the creation of video original.

According to a recent publication of the official Google blog, the study, which is located in Montreal, Canada, will be led by industry veteran Jade Raymon, vice president of Stay Games and Entertainment, who reiterated that the mission of the study is to produce “unique content and original in a diverse portfolio of games.”

This will allow you to Stay you receive a constant stream of original content that is not available in any other place, supplementing their supply of popular titles from other studios, such as Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Borderlands 3, Cyberpunk 2077 and Destiny 2.

With Stay competing with other gaming systems, like Nintendo Switch and next-generation consoles Xbox and PlayStation —which are scheduled for release next year— it is crucial that the games platform of Google start to develop their own original games to encourage the players to decide.

“In my opinion, it is very important that the original games are games that would not be possible on any other platform. I think that is what is really exciting and so we’re building our teams,” said Raymond.

It is not yet known nothing official about the first batch of original games that form part of Stay, which is scheduled to launch officially on 19 November. However, given the closeness of the date, we can infer that the popular titles from other studios will be the ones that will push the platform of games during the first few months, until the study of Google based in Canada can assert its position as the primary developer of the original content of Stay.
