Apple has launched an online store specifically for veterans and current members of the armed forces, as well as their family members, applying a 10 percent discount on the purchase of iPhones (including the latest models of the company), iPads, Mac computers, Apple Watch, and almost all of the catalog of the company. Also apply discounts on the accessories of Apple, including the AirPods, Apple, Pencil, iPhone covers and straps for the Apple Watch.
The third-party products are also in discounts, among them the drone Mavic 2 Pro, the Osmo Mobile 2 Gimbal for the iPhone and the camera Lifeprint; what has not been lowered for this sector is the content of the iTunes Store or the App Store.
In this way, the iPhone XS is available from $ $ 899 (versus $999), the iPhone XR from $674 usd ($749 $ without rebate) and the new iPad Pro 11-inch starting at $719 ($799 usd).
This specific store is available, as you point out, for members of the u.s. Armed Forces and veterans of the army, National Guard and reservists. Also, it can be used by members of the immediate family if they live at the same address.
To buy in this store, just to belong to any of these groups, and be of age. “At Apple, we are deeply grateful to the men and women of our armed forces,” explains the firm in a statement, “we are proud to offer active military and veterans a new online store dedicated with special prices as an expression of our gratitude for their brave service.”
This is not the first time that the company launches a store for a particular sector of the society, so the Apple Store for Education, for example, is open to college students and their parents, as well as to teachers, staff, and teachers of education and offers discounts of up to 6 percent in many of its products, although in this case it excludes the iPhone. Other companies in the sector, as well as Apple, also offer discounts for serving in the army and the veterans, among them Microsoft, Samsung, Dell, Hewlett Packard and Lenovo.
